IRWA Tennessee Chapter 32

Since its inception as a not-for-profit association in 1934, IRWA has united the efforts of its members toward professional development, improved service to employers and the public, and advancements within the right of way profession. IRWA is the unsurpassed source of right of way educational programs and professional services worldwide.

Billions of dollars are spent annually in the acquisition, management, and transfer of rights of way. With the technical skills required for proficiency in this complex activity, IRWA’s specialized education and training programs provide an essential foundation for right of way professionals around the world.

"NEWS" - Our Profession and Association

Dear Chapter President,

Greetings from the trustees of the Right of Way International Education Foundation! We are working to try to insure that all members of the International Right of Way Association are familiar with the RWIEF and CRWEF and our goal of funding right of way education initiatives. With continuing education and professional development being essential to the growth and advancement of our profession, the foundation focuses on generating financial contributions and allocating those funds on behalf of the right of way profession.

In the fall of 2014 the foundation began writing quarterly articles for publication in chapter newsletters.  Our hope is to raise member awareness of both RWIEF and CRWEF by keeping chapters updated on foundation news and events.  In case you missed any of these articles, they are archived on the RWIEF website at www.rwief.org.  Go to the “RWIEF Tools” tab, then select “Chapter Newsletter Articles”.

In an effort to reach all members of the International Right of Way Association on the need for funding to keep our educational offerings on the cutting edge attached to this email is the 2017 fall article.  If you feel appropriate please include this article in your chapter’s fall newsletter or on your chapter website

The Right of Way International Education Foundation has a great web site which is constantly being updated with the latest information on educational initiatives. If your chapter has a web site I would ask that you add a link to the RWIEF web site www.rwief.org and encourage your chapter members to visit the site and become familiar with our goal of funding new course development, revamping of existing courses, web-based training programs, and educational summits.

On behalf of the trustees thank you for your support of the RWIEF and CRWEF and your leadership in the International Right of Way Association.

If you have any questions and/or comments please feel free to contact any of the RWIEF trustees……you can find the trustee’s contact information on the RWIEF web site.

Regards,

Ron

Leadership Spotlight
Each month, the IRWA recognizes a volunteer leader's extraordinary contributions and efforts to the Association's purpose of improving the quality of people's lives through infrastructure development.

This month's spotlight shines on Membership and Education Chair Billy Medley, SR/WA of Tennessee Chapter 32. His leadership and commitment has helped several members of his chapter complete an IRWA certification pathway.

"Being part of a great organization as the IRWA has been my life's highlight," Billy said. "That is my pride in seeing others succeed by mentoring years of education and professionalism that I carried as my banner."

Some of the Chapter officers that Billy has helped guide in recent years include Chapter Vice President Melissa Wells, who recently completed her requirements for her SR/WA; Chapter Secretary Rhett Turner, SR/WA; Chapter Treasurer Josh Kriner, RWA; and two recent Chapter Past Presidents who also received their SR/WAs under Billy's chairmanship.
